During the event attended by over 1,200 international participants, the Oil&Gas Basque Industry brand was presented for the first time, grouping together the main companies in this value chain in the Basque Country.

Between 18th and 21st June, the Basque Energy Cluster presented the new Oil&Gas Basque Industry brand at OMAE 2018 (International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering), the most important technical-scientific congress in the world on offshore technology, which was held in Madrid this year, Promoted by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), this year saw record participation from 1,200 attendees coming from over 40 different countries, with equal industry-academic presence.

Oil&Gas Basque Industry took part in the event as a sponsor with its own stand, joined by other companies: EUSKAL FORGING, TECNALIA and TUBACEX. This was also used as a means of disseminating the Harsh project and the HarshLab laboratory, a singular infrastructure that can be used for experimentation and validation tests on components and subsystems in the real marine environment.

On Tuesday 19th June, a side-event was specifically organised to present the Basque sector’s strengths to the attendees, under the brand Oil&Gas Basque Industry. During the event, the companies ERREKA, EUSKAL FORGING, TECNALIA, TUBACEX and VICINAY also had the chance to present their expertise and some of their most recent technological breakthroughs.
