The Packaging Cluster will co-organize the National Packaging 4.0 Congress in Pick & Pack

The Packaging Cluster and Pick & Pack have reached a collaboration agreement to co-organize the National Packaging 4.0 Congress, which will take place within the framework of Pick & Pack 2020. On February 12, 13 and 14, 2020, in the CCIB of Barcelona, ​​will bring together the most innovative companies and more than 180 international experts with the aim of bringing a new vision to the packaging industry and its users.

The sector is going through a period of change with the emergence of digitalization, the sustainability of new materials and 3D printing. Innovations that have caused several industrial sectors to face new challenges such as the reduction of plastic in containers, the use of more sustainable materials or the application of smart labels to improve their efficiency against increasingly advanced competitors.

With this agreement, Pick & Pack and the Packaging Cluster seek to disseminated new technological solutions in the field of packaging to help improve the competitiveness of companies and move towards sustainability. Thus, the National Packaging Congress 4.0 will address different topics such as ecodesign, Smart Printing, smart packaging or sustainable packaging, and biodegradable materials, along with many other hot topics. Currently, the organizers are in the process of actively searching for speakers that meet the programme’s requirements and objectives.

“The National Packaging Congress 4.0 will showcase the latest innovations and technologies in terms of sustainability and digitalization, two of the present biggest challenges of the sector” said Marina Uceda, Event Manager of Pick & Pack. “Always with the goal of bringing a new vision to the industry with the latest equipment and new processing systems that overcome technological barriers,” she adds.

Precisely, one of the lines of action of the Packaging Cluster is to promote the generation of R + D + I projects, creating synergies with complementary companies and knowledge centers to improve the companies’ business. “We are very happy to co-organize the National Packaging Congress 4.0, a congress that will address the new solutions that will help improve the competitiveness of companies in the packaging sector,” says the president of the Packaging Cluster, Artur Costa Barrés.
