  • The European Safe Smart Food project consortium aims to carry out activities to develop and improve the skills of consortium members to strengthen excellence in cluster management

The Safe Smart Food (SSF) project wants to create a reference e-book at European level on the main trends in foodservice and packaging. The creation of this e-book is part of the main tasks of the working group led by the Cluster Foodservice of Catalonia. This interactive document that will include videos, text and a space to comment and debate will be presented in June 2021.

We seek to develop a training and learning program aimed at consortium staff and all those clusters that may be interested in strengthening and improving their skills to work through excellence, responding to specific needs and the main challenges of foodservice and packaging.

The process of creating content for this e-book has begun with an internal analysis of the main current trends in the foodservice and packaging sector. Once we have identified them, we are organizing 6 webinars from February 2021 combining two different training areas: cluster capabilities (ESCA Label System) and specialized training (entrepreneurship, shared value…) to understand the main challenges facing they face the foodservice and packaging sector and acquire the skills to address them.

The six topics we will cover in both the webinars and the e-book are:

  1. Excellence in cluster management (ESCA Label System)
  2. Promoting entrepreneurship in the cluster ecosystem
  3. Shared value across clusters
  4. How to adapt clusters to the main trends and challenges in the food sector
  5. How to make your cluster more profitable with digitization
  6. Nutrition and Health as a cornerstone of the food sector in clusters

To take advantage of the webinars, members will develop an e-book with the content of the webinars and additional specialized information to complement it. The e-book will be available online for all members of the consortium’s clusters and other clusters and is aimed at those cluster professionals interested in deepening their knowledge of each of the topics. It will include recordings of all webinars so that anyone who is interested can see or review it.
