The ‘Smart Grids Basque Country’ pavilion showcases the latest developments in smart grids at the Vienna EUW

The European Utility Week (EUW 2018), the most important European fair in the smart electric networks sector, also known as “Smart grids”, was held in Vienna from 6th to 9th November and attended by over 10,000 professionals and experts from all over the world.

An important representation of the Basque energy sector attended the European Utility Week  (EUW) in Vienna, the leading European event devoted to smart grids, to show off its skills in this field. Five Basque companies and bodies shared the 'Smart Grids Basque Country' stand, organised by the Basque Energy Cluster to present the sector's competitiveness.

Ariadna Grid, the project Bidelek 4.0.OrmazabalSupra Systems and the technological corporation Tecnalia participated in the Basque pavilion. Furthermore, the Basque Energy Cluster showcased at its stand the Hazitek Mgridstorage and Securegrid Projects, financed by the Department for Economic Development and Infrastructures of the Basque Government (HAZITEK Programme) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This pavilion, that covered an area of 90 m2 (stands A.c20 and A.c30) to show the latest developments in the sector of smart grids in the Basque Country, served to show first hand the latest developments from Basque companies regarding the challenges of smart grids and the solid collaboration that exists between companies, public services, government agencies and knowledge agents.
