During the Foodvalley Summit on “Sports & Nutrition” the New Frontiers in Food Fast Forward (NF4) project organized the first Tech Road Show, in the future World Food Center in Ede, The Netherlands.

During this international event, more than 100 companies were present from over 15 different countries. In the session ‘New markets outside Europe 2018-2019’, discussion and interaction between SME’s interested in the NF4-project took place. The NF4-clusters Clusaga, Valorial, Wagralim and Foodvalley NL jointly participated in the Tech Road Show. It included explanation about the NF4-project within the EU EASME program “Cluster Go International!” and the participating cluster. The interactive session focused on the upcoming Innovation Tours to the USA and China as well as on the collaboration of SME with parties outside of Europe. Three international companies, Your Op, Fortified Food Coatings and KRIKET, shared their experience and/or ambitions regarding exploring and entering new markets outside Europe, like USA and China. This resulted in a useful, interactive meeting, in which companies, the clusters and other stakeholders could discuss about their international opportunities and challenges.

Participants also joined during the international B2B matchmaking organized by Europe Enterprise Network (EEN). During the Foodvalley Summit ample of interaction was facilitated with emphasis on the value chain of “Health Ingredients and Functional foods”. Participants learned about nutritional intake in sports and discussed at the exhibition area with different food companies and tasted the different innovative products during lunch.

The innovation tours to USA and China are scheduled in March and May 2019, respectively. More information about the application procedure is available at https://newfrontiersinfood.eu/project/ or contact tjerna.ellenbroek [at] foodvalley.nl.
