Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub, orchestrated by Transilvania IT Cluster, has successfully passed the national selection organized by The Authority for the Digitalization of Romania. Thus, TDIH is among the digital innovation centers in Romania that will have the opportunity next year to become members of the European Network of Digital Innovation Hubs - the EDIH Network. According to ADR, the New Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, through the Digital Europe program, provides a budget of 8.2 billion euros that supports the acceleration of economic recovery and the transition to the European Union digitized at the highest level, competitive in the global economy and resilient regarding cyber security. The activity of DIHs is a concrete way to facilitate the digital transition, by implementing advanced digital solutions in the activity of companies and public sector institutions.The objective of the Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub is to help companies and public authorities in the northwest region, members of the ecosystem, to go through the digitalization process and to align themselves with European institutions and large companies. Transilvania DIH partners are: Transilvania IT Cluster - orchestrator, AgroTransilvania Cluster, Transilvania Creative Industries Cluster, Romanian New Materials Clusters, Transylvania Furniture Cluster, Transylvania Energy Cluster, Cluj-Napoca City Hall, National Institute for R&D of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies, Babeș-Bolyai University and Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

With a history of three years, Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub is the first operational digitalization hub in Romania, recognized in 2019 as "Fully Operational DIH" by the European Commission JRC. Also last year, Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub was a finalist in the DIH Champions competition in Madrid, a competition that designates the most successful DIHs in Europe.

At the same time, Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub received the role of coordinating the communication platform for Digital Innovation Hubs in Romania, DIHNET.EU which is the main communication platform between Digital Innovation Hubs at European level.

It is also worth mentioning RODIH, the representative association of Romanian DIHs, which acts as a catalyst for innovation, but also a platform for the agenda of common policies among regional DIHs in the country in relation to local, regional, national and European public bodies.

Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub works strategically to catalyze the potential and regional innovation capacities of the northwestern part of the country. It also acts as a provider of skills, know-how, innovation programs, support for start-ups and SMEs. With a view to increasing competitiveness through an innovative mix of technologies, skills, systemic approach, business models, it engages relevant regional stakeholders and proactively adapts to European and global trends. Transilvania DIH establishes the framework for digital transformation in all enterprises and the public sector through an intersectoral approach.
