bioXclusters plus – the European Strategic Cluster Partnership on Personalized Healthcare formed by Biocat, BioM, BioPmed and Lyonbiopole and co-funded by the COSME Programme of the European Union – is glad to invite European and Japanese clusters and networks in the field of personalized healthcare to participate in a networking session organized at the occasion of BIO-Europe 2016 in Cologne on November 8th afternoon. This session, organized in collaboration with CEBR and with kind support of EBD Group and EU-Japan Centre, will include presentations of Japanese life sciences clusters and initiatives. Participants can stay in the room for the CEBR Global Hub, which is then followed by an exclusive networking reception for all European, Japanese and other cluster managers.

The event and the networking reception offer the unique opportunity to build first bridges between European and Japanese life science regions and initiatives.

The session will be held from 14:45 to 15:30 on Tuesday, 8 November 2016. Provisional program:

  • Opening remarks by partners from bioXclusters plus and José Freitas, Policy Officer at the European Commission, DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs
  • Presentation by Dr. Tsuneaki Sakata, President of All Japanese Bio Regions Committee: “Promotion of technology transfer by international cooperation”
  • Presentation by Dr. Yasuko Terao, Director, FIRM: “Regenerative Medicine in Japan – Novel Framework and Opportunities for Cell/Gene Therapy Development”
  • Presentation by Ms. Mayuko Nagano, Chief Senior Staff Life Sciences Industry Division, Osaka Prefectural Government: “Regenerative Medicine Initiative in Osaka”
