Description

The Amfiteatru Foundation is organizing the fourth edition of the International Forum for Responsible Tourism.

The event will take place in Bucharest between April 27-29th and the theme of this edition is "Responsible tourism in an urban space: identities and experiences of a metropolis".

BACKGROUND

Responsible tourism is a powerful concept for understanding that travel and hospitality are directly connected in a relationship based on respect for community values.

Recent studies show that the majority of tourists visiting Romania nowadays belong to the category of those who adhered to the principles of responsible tourism, informed travelers who seek experiences and destinations capable of delivering authenticity.

It is a growing category, to which we need to need to respond by promoting, in order to increase the number of visitors and also by offering the right type of services, tourism products and destinations.

Responsible tourism has grown exponentially, organic, in recent years, aided by technology, easy-access travel procedures, communication and means of information.

This is the main motivation for organizing this event.

CONCEPT

Responsible tourism in an urban space: identities and experiences of a metropolis

Objective: To get all parties involved acquainted with responsible tourism practices, its means of promotion and dissemination

How? By raising public attention and bringing responsible tourism specialists in order to contribute to the implementation of a coherent program

AGENDA

The agenda intends to bring topics of discussion such as:

Identities and local experiences – as vectors for the development of communities

The management of touristic destinations

Creative industries and community development

Social capital, identity and technological innovation as premises in touristic marketing

Education and the hospitality of communities

Funding for community development

By going through all these subjects, we are trying to increase the interest of entrepreneurs for high quality services, products and experiences.

We are confident that the forum will be a vital step that Bucharest (and Romania on the long term) needs to take in order to become part of this European and international circuit, through networks of responsible tourism.
