Description

The final URBAN INNO conference will be held from 23 to 24 May within the 42nd International ICT Convention MIPRO 2019, in Opatija (Croatia). The first day of the conference, Thursday, 23 May, will be open for all visitors who will also be able to participate in thematic lectures and presentations of the project results. The conference program will begin with the guest lecturer Ante Lučić (A-Link Ltd, HR) presenting the ‘Human Capital, Work and Educational Perspectives on SmartCity Initiatives’, and continue with the presentation 'Involving Users into Urban Innovation: Tools for Facilitating the Process' by Matjaž Gerl, the representative of the Slovenian partner E-institute. The central part of the program is the presentation of all nine pilot projects (Pilot Pitches Run), developed in different regions of Central Europe within URBAN INNO, in the fields of mobility, energy, innovative government, agriculture, smart city & smart users, SME's economic growth and integrated public infrastructure. The Pilot Pitches Run session will be preceded by the lecture 'An introduction to design sprint innovation challenges' of another expert guest, Nicola Doppio, from Trentino Innovation Hub.

URBAN INNO is a project is funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme that encourages cooperation on shared challenges in central Europe. With 246 million Euro of funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the programme supports institutions to work together beyond borders to improve cities and regions in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
