Description

CYBERSEC is an annual public policy conference dedicated to the strategic challenges of cybersecurity.

On October 8th, the Annual Workshop of Cyberwatching.eu project will be held as part of the CyberSec Forum 2018 in Krakow (Poland). The workshop will consist of two tracks:

  • Aligning and prioritising EU and international Cybersecurity and Privacy: EU policies and legislation, such as the GDPR, are being advanced to address threats to governments, businesses and vulnerabilities affecting consumer data and individual privacy. Europe’s first step at harmonisation of the cybersecurity legislation across the European Union is the Cybersecurity Act. In the US, the focal point is the NIST Framework, while in Japan it is NISC. With such a nascent landscape, our session will be the place for international dialogue on this topic.
  • Assessing research outputs within the cybersecurity and privacy landscape Cybersecurity is a catch all description that is used in many spaces to describe a wide variety of different R&I activities. This workshop will show how the Cyberwatching.eu project is using a two-tier taxonomy of cybersecurity and privacy topics in order to support projects to classify and group themselves into meaningful clusters. In other words, how we can avoid overlaps and create new synergies enabling the cross pollination of ideas for new business models.
