Automotive industry remains strong driver for failure analysis in nanelectronics
Last Friday, August 31st, more than 100 scientists and engineers from 7 European countries, Israel, China and US attended the 6th dresden Nanoanalysis Symposium, hosted by Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden. This year, the symposium was supported for the first time also by the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) and the European Materials Characterization Cluster (EMCC).
The abstract book is available at the following web pages:

Within 14 exceptional keynotes and invited talks, with 44 poster presentations and within a lot of interesting and exciting discussions, topics like 2D and 3D matrials characterization, materials challenges for the automotive industry as well as e.g. technology-related issues for FDSOI were considered. Within Cool Silicon, automotive industry plays a crucial role beside semiconductor industry itself as a driver for innovations.
All participants gave an excellent feedback. "I would like to thank all of you for your valuable contribution to the success of our event. Thanks to you, we could reduce the registration fee for more than 30 PhD students from several European countries significantly, and we were able to continue with our tradition to provide awards for the three best posters." Prof. Ehrenfried Zschech, one of the main organizers, Department Head, Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS, Board Member of Cool Silicon as well as Head of the Steering Committee, Dresden Fraunhofer Cluster Nanoanalysis DFCNA, pointed out.
The 7th Dresden Nanoanalysis Symposium will be held on August 30th, 2019 - stay tuned to register in time!
