The Packaging ClusterCentro Español de Plásticos (CEP), SaplexDribia and TAI Smart Factory, The BOWSER collaborative innovation project is completed, with the aim of finding out how the different variables of the extrusion process impact the final quality of the product, in order to define the optimal manufacturing model.

This industrial research project was born as an evolution of the MARIO project, framed in Saplex's AI 4.0 strategic implementation plan. The MARIO project focused on improving maintenance processes, while Bowser has gone a step further, clarifying causal effects between production parameters and results, in order to maximize quality and globally optimize the process.

With the BOWSER project, it was intended to achieve, in the first instance, improve the quality of the manufactured product, while reducing costs, by tightly controlling the process, allowing to improve the stability of this production process, reducing incidents and production losses.

This optimization of the process is framed within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations, especially number 12 that refers to Responsible Production and Consumption.

The BOWSER project has been financed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism through the aid program to support Innovative Business Groups (AEI), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, in order to improve the competitiveness of small and medium businesses.
