51 SMEs based in Spain, Italy, Poland and in the Czech Republic have been engaged to participate in the Green Small Smart Cities Project, starting a cross-border collaboration journey to spread the use of sustainable technological solutions from Europe to less developed regions of the world. The companies filled out an online survey expressing their macro sectors of interest, geographical areas of interest in Asia, Africa and Latin America, the main barriers encountered or feared implementing their expansion strategy and what kind of collaboration/partners they are looking for. 49 % of the SMEs mapped are active in the sector of “Renewable Energy”. The following more representative sectors are “Energy” (43,1%) and “Waste management and Environmental solutions” (41,2%). “Electronics, IT and telecommunications” has been also chosen by several SMEs (37,3%) while 23,5% of the respondent selected the “Water management” sector. These companies will be inserted in a catalogue to present them to possible business partner in the selected target countries: Chile, Cabo Verde and Vietnam.
