Apply to Tourban's Sustainable Urban Tourism Acceleration Programme

Are you interested in improving your tourism business’s sustainability? 

Tourban is an EU-funded project that supports urban tourism SMEs in becoming more competitive and sustainable. 

Tourban has launched applications for the Sustainable Urban Tourism Acceleration Programme where you can develop innovative projects tackling urban tourism challenges. 

At least 60 SMEs will be selected for the programme. The participants will come from 7 European cities: Barcelona, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Kiel, Tallinn, Budapest, and Dubrovnik. 

Selected SMEs will be given the chance to participate in a Design Thinking Lab in Barcelona, where small groups of SMEs and additional actors will work on sustainability challenges related to their every-day business.  

The programme also includes an Investor Pitch. From January 2022, SMEs will have the chance to meet industry experts and receive a grant of up to €10,000. 

To apply, projects must refer to the following topics: 

  • Smart resource use; energy and water 

  • Circular economy and waste management 

  • Sustainable destination strategy 

  • Sustainability certificates and labels 

You must also meet the following requirements: 

  • You must be an SME  

  • You must be a European tourism SME settled in Croatia, Hungary, Denmark, the Netherlands, Estonia, Spain, or Germany 

The deadline is 20 October 2021.
