The Aurora extraevent on vine, wine and olives took place in Montpellier from 28 to 30th of November 2023. During three days, we hosted Elietsa, a Dutch company specializing in Zero waste management and regenerative cultivation methods for olive groves.

The objectives was to learn more about innovation challenges and issues of the vine, wine, fruit and olive sectors in France. But also to discover the latest trends and innovative solutions and discuss practical problems encountered.

These three days were dedicated to meet local stakeholders, research organisations and companies related to the products and services for the wine, fruit and olive-growing sectors and to participate in the networking, workshops and conferences events organised by Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation in the framework of the SITEVI. Furthermore, the issue was to provide matchmaking opportunities with ASOI team and members.

During his stay, Michael Van Den Berg, CEO of Elietsa had the opportunity to participate in several conferences organised by:

  • France Olive, the French Interprofessional Olive Association
  • Trapview, provider of decision-support tools
  • Inno’vin, innovation cluster in vine and wine
  • Vinseo, cluster bringing together expert members of the wine industry.

In addition, the mission was dedicated to discover the Montpellier and French ecosystem of the vine and olive sectors and to identify potential business or innovation-led collaborations with French and international stakeholders. Informal meetings and BtoB were organized and gave him the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about transformation processes.
