Second phase of the Mosaic AgroData 4.0 project: A boost for the digital transformation of the agri-food sector

  • The Mosaic Agrodata 4.0 project, led by Netboss Communications, has been given the green light to move into its second phase.
  • The aim is to ensure continuity in the development of the platform by incorporating new modules that extend its scope.

The year 2023 has been a success for the Mosaic Agrodata 4.0 project, led by Netboss Communications together with SOINCONSIALI and Cluster Ontech Innovation of Granada. Following the successful completion of the first phase, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has awarded a grant to proceed with the second phase of the project.

The Ministry’s approval of the initiative presented in the previous call increases the possibility of completing the project in a future phase 3. The approval of the second phase represents a line of continuity for both the project and the companies involved. The aim of this second phase is to ensure continuity in the development of the platform by adding new modules that extend the scope of Mosaic Agrodata 4.0. These modules will integrate the modules developed independently in the first phase and will allow their practical validation in the field in a third phase.

The Mosaic Agrodata 4.0 project is based on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics and decision support systems (DSS). These technologies will enable the platform to manage all the operations and resources involved in the life cycle of an agricultural product, from before it is planted until it reaches the end consumer.

Mosaic Agro 4.0 facilitates the digitalisation of processes that were previously paper-based, monitors the preventive maintenance of agricultural equipment and supports the inspection, auditing and management of transport and logistics. In short, it will enable the smooth management of agricultural operations in an agri-food environment that is in urgent need of technification. The project applies advanced ICT technologies and brings technological progress to the agri-food sector through “operational intelligence”, represented by Mosaic AgroData 4.0, which will facilitate decision-making in farm management, increase worker productivity to generate value for the end user and guarantee the profitability of production in the short term.

With the potential to digitally transform the agri-food sector, the Mosaic Agrodata 4.0 project promises significant benefits, including increased efficiency, improved sustainability through reduced environmental impact and greater traceability, providing transparency and confidence to consumers.

This initiative is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism as part of the programme to support Spanish clusters to improve the competitiveness of Spanish industry, and supported by the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
