Operational intelligence at the service of the agri-food sector with Mosaic AgroData 4.0

    • The Mosaic Agrodata 4.0 project has developed the foundations for a cloud solution that facilitates the integrated management of farms.
    • The initiative is funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.
    • The Centre for Research and Industrial Technology of Cantabria (CITICAN) has participated in the project, coordinated by onTech Innovation, together with Netboss, Soincon and Siali.

onTech Innovation has coordinated the development of an innovative cloud solution for the agri-food sector. Mosaic Agrodata 4.0, designed in collaboration with leading partners in technology management, will provide users with useful information in their tasks in the field, integrating and managing all the processes, equipment and operations involved in a farm.

The prototype, which will have further development phases, makes it a reality to simplify communication between those responsible for the agricultural activity in which it is used, by enabling all the teams involved in the life cycle of an agri-food product to use a single platform where all the information collected and updated at any given moment is available.

Mosaic Agro 4.0 facilitates the digitalisation of processes that are carried out on paper, and monitors the preventive maintenance of agricultural equipment and assists in the inspection, auditing and management of transport and logistics. In short, it will make it possible to manage agricultural operations in a seamless way, in an agri-food environment that urgently needs a process of technification.

The project applies the latest ICT technologies and brings technological progress to the agri-food sector through “operational intelligence”. Mosaic AgroData 4.0 will facilitate decision-making in farm management, increasing worker productivity to generate value for the end user and ensure the profitability of production in the short term.

A cutting-edge solution developed by organisations at the forefront of R&D&I

The development of Mosaic AgroData 4.0 has been possible thanks to the knowledge and research of leading companies and entities in the technology sector. Thus, the company Netboss Comunicaciones is a Spanish company with extensive knowledge of the world of operations and management of customer and citizen services. Soincon is an expert in the development of software solutions, industrial systems integration and Lean Manufacturing. Through the implementation of its technology they obtain more efficiency in industrial processes with the use of new technologies. Siali specialises in the integration of Deep Learning systems in production in any sector. They have extensive experience in the automation of quality inspection processes, stock control, control of PRL measures and logistics monitoring.

The Centre for Research and Industrial Technology of Cantabria (CITICAN) is an organisation aimed at providing technology-based services to companies and organisations from different sectors to improve their competitiveness and efficiency. It offers solutions available to companies to develop their R&D&I projects, aimed at creating new products and services, improving processes and business models, in collaboration with researchers from different disciplines and guided by professionals in project management. It is an initiative coordinated by onTech Innovation, the largest technology cluster in Southern Europe; and is funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism within the programme of support to the AEIs to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of Spanish industry, and with the support of the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
