Funding under the model refurbishment programme is made available to all natural and legal persons carrying out commercial activities. Public institutions, local authorities, accommodation establishments with more than ten beds, contractors, associations and religious institutions may also apply for funding. Funding is provided for comprehensive refurbishment projects on buildings used for business purposes and public buildings. Thes include: measures to improve thermal insulation, measures for the use of renewable energy sources, and measures to increase energy efficiency.

As part of the thermal-energetic renovation and the application of renewable energy sources, you must implement an energy consumption monitoring system and install the necessary measuring equipment. If necessary, energy consumption monitoring data will be evaluated and published as part of an accompanying programme. In the first year of operation, the building services systems must be optimised using data from appropriately qualified experts.
