Preparatory Live Webinar introduces the EU - Singapore Matchmaking Event

In the context of the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) on 8-12 November 2021, the European Commission (EC) are organising the EU – Singapore Matchmaking Event, which will be held virtually on 11 and 12 November 2021

Prior to the matchmaking event, the selected participants had an opportunity to participate in a preparatory webinar that took place on 21 October 2021. 

The event was jointly organised by the European Commission and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) - with the support of the EU Delegation to Singapore, the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (ESF) and facilitated by the ECCP and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) including its local node “EEN Singapore”.

The webinar was opened by Ms. Justyna Lasik, Head of Trade and Economic Section at the EU Delegation to Singapore and Mr. Dennis Lee, Regional Group Director at ESG.

It featured a market access information session focused on collaboration opportunities provided by Mr. Zhilin Sim, Regional Vice-President, International Marketing (Europe), at Economic Development Board Singapore and a presentation on the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, by Mr. Jean-Pierre De Meerleer Sanchez, Trade Officer at the EU Delegation to Singapore. There was also a Q&A session, moderated by Mr. Jean-Philippe Mergen, from EEN.

This was followed by a presentation on the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, by Ms. Nora Bihari, Project Manager at South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk and a second Q&A session, moderated by Mr. Jean-Philippe Mergen.

Lastly, Mr. Douglas Thompson from the ECCP presented the next steps towards the matchmaking event.
