The purpose of the project is the industrial research of advanced intelligent technologies for Monitoring and Robotization of the end-of-line palletizing and wrapping processes. This project aims to address important challenges within the field of digitalization/industry 4.0, automation, prediction and sustainability, for the transformation of the packaging sector.

Within the SMARTENPAL project consortium, in which advanced technologies, both physical and digital, are being researched, INFOSA and PENTAMATIK intend to develop and validate with a pilot an Advanced Collaborative Robotic system that guarantees the flexibility, safety and optimization of palletizing operations. , and where CONTROLPACK, TEPSIS and BertIA, will focus on the Digitalization and Monitoring processes of the balers, including the development of data modeling systems, their treatment and analysis, to control and predict consumption, their performance and tasks of maintenance required, to be able to offer a servitization model, and finally, PACKAGING CLUSTER, as an entity accredited as AEI to coordinate and manage this project.

The objective of the project is to investigate an advanced collaborative industrial palletizing process, and the digital transformation of wrapping equipment, to automate and optimize the ends of lines. The success of this project will allow us to obtain new technologies in the fields of automation, IoT, energy efficiency, flexibility and quality, which will represent a technological leap for the sector and will enhance its transformation. The project has a subsidy of €181,107 from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism on a budget of €242,762, financing that will help obtain advanced technologies for line ends, through collaboration between companies and agents in the sector. The SMARTENPAL project is financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism through the support program for Innovative Business Groups (AEI), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the small and medium businesses.
