On December 5, 2023, the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City held a seminar on talents and competencies in the media and creative industries.
At the end of the last century, creative industries became the strategic engine for growth, for creating new jobs and for strengthening the culture of societies in developed countries. The contribution of these industries to the GDP of most European countries is invariably between 2% and 5%, and their contribution to the creation of entrepreneurship in Europe is one of the most significant. Undoubtedly, the knowledge, skills and abilities of entrepreneurs in these industries play an extremely important role in economic growth and the prosperity of society.
The aim of the seminar was to present some of the achievements of project XD Media HUB, presented by Milena Koleva from the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City, as well as to get acquainted with the latest news related to the development of this industry in the country. Over the past three years, the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City has taken part in several projects directly related to building a competence framework and, accordingly, creating profiles of a number of professional roles on the labor market, including of social, media and creative entrepreneurs; of project managers, consultants and specialists for smart cities; of those working in retail trade, etc.
Over 45 industry representatives, experts, mentors and entrepreneurs took part in the seminar with moderator Vyara Gancheva from Bulgarian Academy of Science and listened with interest, Evgeniy Ivanov from Radar Association, Svetlana Lomeva from Sofia Development Association, Iva Boyadzhieva from Pensoft Publishing, Milena Tasheva from CIELA Publishing and Stoyan Stoyanov from ProWay.
Shortly before the seminar, a focus group was held with the participation of experts from the cluster as well as guests such as Plamen Dimitrov from People & Development Consulting Group, Health & Wealth Ltd., Vladimir Tomov from Investment Council at Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Metodiika Tarlovska from Sofia Municipality, The Digitalization, Innovation and Economic Development Department
