Growing demand of organic food and beverage in Korea and opportunities for European companies

Korea is the second largest organic food market in Asia, with exponential growth potential. This is partly due to the 5-Year Development Plan’s aim to increase market share for eco-friendly products.

Under the EU-Korea Equivalence Agreement, companies carrying the EU organic certification label are recognised as certified organic in Korea.

Premium-labelled chocolate and wines, organic baby food, organic wine, spirits, and beer are sought after products in Korea. This growth in popularity is driven by increased buying power and high living standards.

The EU Gateway | Business Avenues programme invites European companies to apply for the upcoming organic food & beverage business mission to Korea by 8 June, 2018.
