Technologies related to Industry 4.0 should be considered a step to safer, greener, elastic and efficient manufacturing. There are many initiatives focused on supporting companies as well as innovation actors – business support institutions, in accelerating transformation towards Industry 4.0.

Industry 4.0 – automotive manufacturing SMEs perspective

European Automotive Cluster Network (EACN) for joint industrial modernization investments (https://www.eacn-initiative.eu/) is a COSME project realized by consortium of European automotive clusters from France, Poland, Spain, Serbia and Bulgaria. Project aims to:

  • Improve competitiveness of European automotive industry
  • Accompany SMEs in industrial modernisation to face challenges (industry 4.0, new processes and production methods, electrification, connected and autonomous vehicles)
  • Strengthen European automotive cluster collaboration for improved added-value services for members

Toolbox for BSO

Boosting CE Business Support Organizations (BSOs) capacities for I4.0 scale up support (https://www.interreg-central.eu/Content.Node/Boost4BSO.html) is a Interreg CE project aiming at improving knowledge build-up and sustainable knowledge transfer linkages among CE BSOs.

To reach this goal, Boost4BSO capitalizes on training contents/methodologies developed by the core projects InnoPeer AVM and Things+ (both Interreg CE) and the upscaling practice experience of IoT4Industry (H2020), with complementary inputs from further EU/nat. I4.0 related initiatives. Project Partners will jointly develop a comprehensive competence development package for BSOs and support them in creating a toolkit to faciliate SMEs in industrial transformation.
