There are many initiatives to help companies during the corona crisis, both at national and local level. To help you navigate the support available, we have listed some of the most important measures for you as an employer or entrepreneur.

Government guarantee program for companies - Loan guarantees for small and medium-sized companies

Under the terms of the scheme the state will guarantee 70 percent of new loans issued by banks to companies affected by the coronavirus crisis. Please note that companies of all sizes are eligible to participate in the program.

Almi’s bridge loans 

Small and medium-sized companies in Sweden that are in need of financing as a result of Covid-19 can apply for Almi’s bridge loan. The loan offers conditions that are specially adapted to the Covid-19 situation. The loan is always combined with advisory services where you can discuss and simulate the effects the crisis is having on your cash flow, income statement and balance sheet. The bridge loan has been made possible by the government’s SEK 3 billion capital injection to Almi’s loan fund.

Temporary deferment of tax payments 

Companies that are financially affected by the Covid-19 crisis can apply for a temporary deferral of payment for employer contributions, deducted tax and VAT. Payment can be postponed for one year from the date of the decision. The deferral applies for up to three accounting periods between January and September 2020

Short-term layoffs

This proposal allows employers to halve their wage costs, with the state covering a larger share of the cost. Employees will be able to receive more than 90 per cent of their salary.
