Cosmos and the sea - at the interface of horizons

On March 8, 2018, at the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the conference "Cosmos and the sea - at the interface of horizons" took place. This was another of the series of meetings organized by the Space Science Commission at the PAN Department in Gdańsk under the chairmanship of prof. Edmund Wittbrodt. Co-organizers were scientific institutions involved in research covering the subject of the conference: Polish Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polish SCOR), Scientific Consortium SatBałtyk (Institute of Oceanology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Oceanography of the University of Gdańsk, Institute of Physics Pomeranian University in Słupsk, Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences, University of Szczecin) Center for Polar Research KNOW and Departments of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management at the National Research Institute in Gdynia and Krakow. The deliberations were a good opportunity to meet science and business circles and discuss a number of issues related to remote sensing, navigation and satellite communications, maritime safety, and related legal regulations.
