Description

The International Forum for Health Tourism has reached its ninth edition, this time taking place in the capital city of Romania, Bucharest, between 15-17th of November 2016.

Health Tourism offers real prospects for the economic and social development of Romania, by capitalizing the natural and anthropogenic resources. Bucharest has prestigious medical facilities, trained staff and all necessary tourist facilities.

This edition of the forum will highlight the possibilities the romanian medical sector has to offer to foreign or domestic patients, but will also launch proposals for overcoming administrative barriers (specific in east-european countries).

Considering the many implications that derive from practicing health tourism, understanding trends it's definitely required, and also the advantages and constraints validated at European and International level. During the forum we will update several specific concepts and practices of health tourism and especially issues related to the overall functioning and development in the European context.

Participants will be representatives of national and local authorities, tourism and health specialists, managers, opinion leaders, insurers, journalists and representatives of international organizations.

The agenda will include presentations of the medical facilities and specialists in Bucharest and will focus on identifying competitive advantages that Romania, as a destination for health tourism, holds in the context of Directive 2011/24 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council from 9 March 2011.
