The PIA (Programme d'Investissements d'Avenir) is an industrial policy tool that acts as a catalyst for green growth. It finances innovative projects of all sizes to bring out or develop the industrial sectors of tomorrow.

The programme covers a wide range of thematic areas: renewable energy (marine energies, solar energy, wind power, geothermal); green chemistry and energy issues (bioresources, buildings, energy storage, hydrogen vector, capture storage and recovery of CO2, industry and agriculture); smart electrical networks (smart power grids); circular economy (waste and industrial ecology, remediation of sites and soils, water and biodiversity); road vehicles (mobility and logistics, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, hybrid and thermal motorisation, reducing vehicle weight, heavy vehicles); and rail and maritime (rail transport, ships of the future).
