Helsinki XR Center (HXRC), home of Extended Reality is a centre of AR/VR research, development and start-up hub based in Helsinki and operated by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences  and FIVR (Finnish Virtual Reality Association).

Main activities of Helsinki XR Center are research and development actions under Metropolia RDI Services, startup support by offering inhouse XR teams office space, equipment, community and mentoring, and showcasing the Finnish XR industry through showroom activities and events.

The 8 people team of the center have diverse competencies ranging from startup and business development, event management and service design through state-of-the-art XR technologies and industry knowledge.

CENTIMFE, the Technological Center for the Mouldmaking, Special Tooling and Plastic Industries, is a Portuguese non-profit organization whose main goal is to support the technological development of the mould and plastic sectors in Portugal. Founded in 1991, it currently has around 200 associates - including companies and public institutions, being 30% of its members from the public sector and 70% from the private sector. CENTIMFE is located at the Center Region of Portugal, in Marinha Grande city.

CENTIMFE’s mission is to position itself as an interface to support the development of the Moulds, Special Tools and Plastic industries, through interaction with companies in these sectors in their different functions, acting as a technology transfer link between the Scientific and Technological System, of which it is an integral part, and the Companies, within the framework of the Competitiveness and Technology Hub Engineering & Tooling, of which is an anchor partner.

CENTIMFE as currently around 50 workers… CENTIMFE is equipped with the most advanced technologies used within the Tooling Industry, such as 3 axis and 5 axis milling machining, EDM and WEDM machining, injection moulding machine, measuring devices and equipment for quality control. JYVSECTEC – Jyväskylä Security Technology is JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Information Technology based research, development and training center focused for Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. JYVSECTEC offers services by using Finland’s national Cyber Arena RGCE (Realistic Global Cyber Environment) and JAMK High Performance Computing (HPC) environment.

JYVSECTEC provides information and cyber security solutions through Research & Development and Training & Exercises. Our goal is to develop expertise and know-how by providing organizations with staff training, and by conducting research and development with national and international professionals. One example is the national cyber exercise, which has been conducted annually since 2013 in co-operation with the Finnish defence and security authorities and critical infrastructure companies. We have a co-operation agreement with the Finnish Ministry of Defence regarding the development of national cyber security.

The AIR Institute (https://air-institute.org) is a non-profit research organization, aimed at the promotion and development of scientific research in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence. The AIR Institute comprises a multidisciplinary team of researchers who work to promote innovation in the field of information technology, computer science, artificial intelligence and information and communication technologies (ICT).

The AIR Institute has highly qualified personnel as a result of their participation in different national and international projects, providing valuable experience in many technologies, such as: the use of distributed ledger technologies and/or blockchain and cryptocurrencies, the use of virtual organizations for the design of social computing systems, fog/edge computing mechanisms, development of applications and different types of Cloud platforms, use of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and information extraction, sentiment analysis and other mechanisms…

The AIR Institute is legally constituted in Carbajosa de la Sagrada (Salamanca, Spain) and is equipped with the latest technologies focused on intelligent systems and sensing technologies. It includes IoT/smart grid resources with a smart-grid mock-up and many Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ibeacons, ZigBee, RFID tags, health sensors, etc., as well as prototyping equipment that is used in the different projects.
