Using renewable resources for heat generation is good for your organisation’s balance sheet and for the environment.

Tapping into renewable sources to heat your buildings means a lifetime of lower energy costs and typically a fairly fast return on the initial investment. It also means an independent and secure source of energy/heating.

Combined with intelligent heating systems, the overall energy consumption can be reduced significantly, helping Europe meets its renewable energy goals and climate change commitments.

Company heat generation can rely on the following renewable energies, alone or in combination (hybrids):

Biofuels (solids, liquids and gas), directly for heating or electricity conversion:

  • Processed wood and wood waste
  • Renewable natural gas
  • Alcohol, mainly ethanol
  • Biodiesel
  • Power-to-gas conversion by renewable resources
  • Other biomass

Solar heating:

  • Passive collection of heat by intelligent building design
  • Active collection of heat by moving liquids/air to heat and cool water, air, gases

Photovoltaic:

  • Electricity for heat generation
  • Complementing other renewable heat generation processes

Wind power:

  • Electrical or mechanical power
  • Complementing other renewable heat generation processes

Geothermal heating, directly for heating

Heat pumps and heat exchangers to recover lost heat

Inter-seasonal heat transfer (summer surpluses used in winter)

Switching to renewable energy heating alternatives is also good for your organisation’s CSR reputation, if communicated well. This can translate into marketing opportunities, increased sales and better business valuation.
